Care guide

Before and after.

Before your appointment

Prep

  • Let your hair grow to about a quarter inch. Too short and the wax can't grip.
  • Gentle exfoliating in the days before keeps the skin smooth and the lift cleaner.
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing so leaving feels easy.
  • Mention any medications, retinoids, or recent treatments. They affect how skin reacts.
  • Not sure what to book? Just ask, we'll figure it out together.
After your appointment

Aftercare

  • For the first 24–48 hours, skip the gym, hot yoga, and anything that gets you sweating.
  • No pools, hot tubs, saunas, or steam rooms.
  • Avoid perfume, deodorant, and lotion on freshly waxed skin.
  • Hands off. No touching, scratching, or peeking.
  • If you waxed below the belt, skip sex for the first 24 hours.
  • Don't shave between appointments. It resets the cycle and undoes the work.
  • Once skin has settled, exfoliate regularly to help prevent ingrowns.
  • Moisturize daily to keep skin smooth and soft.
  • Rebook around the 4-week mark for the smoothest results.
Heads up

When to reschedule.

Wax doesn't play nicely with everything. If any of these apply on the day of your appointment, send us a text. Rebooking is easier than ruined skin.

Sunburn or fresh tan

Wait at least 24 hours after a sunburn or new spray tan. Skin needs to settle before it can be waxed safely.

Accutane

If you've been on Accutane in the past 6 months, your skin is too thin to wax safely. We can revisit once your prescription is fully out of your system.

Retinoids and strong actives

Pause retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, and other strong actives on the waxing area for at least 5 days before your appointment.

Recent peels or lasers

Wait at least 2 weeks after any chemical peel, laser treatment, or microneedling before booking a wax in the same area.

Active skin issues

Open cuts, rashes, cold sores, or any infection on the area mean we'll need to reschedule until everything's healed.

Botox or filler

For facial waxing, give Botox or filler at least 72 hours to settle before your appointment.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Does it hurt?

There's a quick sting, especially the first time. Most people are surprised at how fast it's over. Your skin gets used to it after a few sessions, and ibuprofen 20–30 minutes ahead helps a lot.

How long does the hair need to be?

About a quarter of an inch, roughly the length of a grain of rice. Too short and the wax can't grip. Too long and we'll trim it before we start.

How often should I rebook?

Around every 4 weeks for most services. The cycle smooths out over time and the regrowth comes in finer the longer you stick with waxing.

Should I shave between appointments?

Please don't. Shaving resets your hair cycle, which makes the next wax less effective and the regrowth coarser. Stick with us between visits and it gets easier every time.

Can I get waxed on my period?

Yes. Just wear a tampon or menstrual cup. Skin can be a touch more sensitive that week, so if you're unsure, schedule a few days before or after.

What if I'm using retinol or other actives?

Stop using them on the area you're waxing for at least 5 days before. Same with chemical exfoliants like AHAs and BHAs. Always tell your esthetician about prescriptions and active ingredients.

What's the difference between bikini and Brazilian?

Bikini cleans up the line and sides, leaving a tidy triangle. Brazilian takes it all, or as much or as little as you want. It's your call, every time.

What if I'm a first-time client?

Most of our clients started here. We'll walk through it together and start small if that's easier. There are no awkward questions on the wax bed.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Send a text at least 24 hours before your appointment, no charge. Inside 24 hours or no-shows are charged the $25 hold placed at booking. The full booking policy lives on the homepage.
